Introduction: to Our List of Heroes and Villains, Devils and Angels

Major Disasters are the most intense experience that human beings can collectively experience.

You learn many things which are complete surprises. We thought that the people who went to disasters were going to help. It never dawned on us that some people would go to Major Disasters for fun or to keep rescuers from rescuing trapped victims or to outright kill people. Can you understand that some people consider disasters to be an opportunity? Some government rescue teams go to foreign disasters, not to help; but to, gather military intelligence or to spy. 'Rescue' to some people is the military and intelligence opportunities presented by a country; being destabilized, during a natural disaster. We have seen 'relief planes' filled, not with humanitarian aid; as everyone is lead to believe; rather, filled with troops which we later saw going into battle, in an illegal war. Sometimes 'rescue' is the easy part and a rescuer fells like he is swimming through a 'sea of vomit', to help save lives.

Can you imagine the experience of the El Salvador Earthquake in 1986? This disaster happened in the middle of a revolution. The people had already spent years under the constant treat of death, from a bomb or bullet. To go to a corner stand, for a coffee, was filled with fear. You wondered, if the approaching car; would open fire or throw a bomb. It was warfare in the street. People were emotionally worn-out. People were traumatised. People couldn't handle any more stress; without losing their minds.

Now, consider, at this instant, the Major Earthquake occurring. Can you imagine hearing 10,000 people simultaneously screaming in terror before they are crushed to death; because of, 'duck and cover'; causing them, to be squashed? In this disaster, 10,000 people were crushed, thousands injured, no water , no electricity, no medical treatment, no food. It was raining every night. Insects and mud were everywhere. Consider, that there was no place to escape to. You were trapped in a living nightmare, from Hell and you could not wake up.

Some ARTI members never recovered from this Hell. ARTI, as a non political organization, was put in charge of the Presidential Compound collapse. President Duarte was so happy with our work that he contacted the President of Taca Airlines and had the CEO return the money we had spent for airline tickets. The leader of the guerillas risked his life to shake our hand and tell us, in his words: "Thank you for helping our country."

There were other people 'working', at this disaster, who allowed 300 people to die a horrorific death; so that, they could maintain their cover for intellegence work and 'smuggling troops' onboard the 'relief flights'. We can prove it. We have their names and witnesses.

ARTI members saw rescuers from Mexico and EL Salvador 'dragged away' because they protested these villains killing these helpless victims. We went back, in the middle,of the night, after this Government Team went to their hotel bar. We discovered that all the victims had died. Our hearts were broken.

ARTI has encountered many villains and many heroes; at disasters, around the world. Major Disasters attract the forces of good and evil similar to the way that moths are attracted to candles.

The forces of 'good' rush to save lives, reduce suffering and to help the victims recover and reconstruct.

The forces of 'evil' rush to the disaster to delight in the suffering of the people, gloat and do harm.

We have experienced the evil of people like Tom Lang who used the World Trade Center as a place for 'delights', to demean and belittle people, to 'verbally defecate' on the NYFD firefighters and police officers. His purpose was not to help. I quote him when he was asked to behave himself around the emotionally fragile firefighters: " Fuck them! I could care less." At the World Trade Center, he had fun with his 'pretty boy' friends and made money from increasing the sales revenues from his privately owned newspapers.

ARTI members became broke and sick. We had spent our own money, to do the rescue , our equipment was destroyed and much worse.

'Pancho' Efrain Huamann, ARTI member from Peru contnued working with our casualty locator, at the Killer's Landfill Dump, for 3 months, to recover body parts, from the WTC rubble. He not only became sick; with no help, for medical treatment; but, when he returned to Peru the DEVIL was waiting for him.

Pancho showed us the paper, from the Peruvian Police General, who promised a 24 hour body guard, to protect Pancho's family. Pancho didn't have confidence in the police. The 'Shining Path Guerillas' had heard about Pancho helping the 'Yankee' enemy. They threatened to kill his wife and children if he didn't pay a penalty, for helping, the 'Yankees'.

After, Pancho gave into their demands; by selling his printing business and paying the money to the guerillas; his family was still in danger.

Now, Pancho is broke, sick from his WTC injuries and his family lives in the mountains hidng from the guerillas. Pancho got his life ruined. Tom Lang did worse to Copp, to get revenge, for Copp standing up to this villain. In simple terms, ARTI got screwed for our sacrifices, at the World Trade Center.
